One of the major thoroughfares in South East London, Old Kent Road was originally part of an ancient trackway that was paved by the Romans and then used by the Anglo-Saxons. Its modern inception is now part of the A2, connecting London with the white cliffs of Dover. Southwark Borough Council have now begun to develop much of the area under the Old Kent Road Area Action Plan.
