One of London’s most famous streets, Fleet Street runs from Temple Bar at the boundary of the City of Westminster to Ludgate Circus at the site of the London Wall and the River Fleet (from which the name for the street was derived). More importantly, it’s a square on the Monopoly board. Extra points if you know which colour.
Having been an important route during the Roman era, in the 16th century the street became known for printing and publishing - and the trade became what the street was then famed for during the 18th century and up until the 1980s (when many news agencies moved away from the street).
