South Boston, affectionately known as ‘Southie’ not only across the city but the entire country, is perhaps Boston’s most storied neighbourhood. With a strong Irish-American heritage, the area was immortalised in movies such as Good Will Hunting, The Departed and Gone Baby Gone.

Castle Island is a key part of Southie’s identity. Located on Boston Harbour, it is actually a peninsula since it was connected to the mainland by a short piece of land in the 1920’s.
