Lupinus hirsutissimus, more commonly known as Stinging Annual Lupine is native to dry mountain slopes around San Francisco Bay and across California.
With dark pink flowers shaped like arrowheads adorned with a yellow spot, each grows between one and two centimetres long. This flower grows predominantly on chaparral and woodland, especially recently burned areas.
